During menstruation hair shouldn’t be dyed or permed.
FALSE. According to dermatologists there is no connection between the phase of menstrual cycle and the effects of dyeing or permanent wave procedures.
Hair should dry on its own
TRUE. Drying with hot air destroys structure of a hair and supports its brittleness. However, it is common knowledge that often you can’t live without a hair dryer. So let’s dry hair 25 centimeters off the head, preferably with tepid air.
Chamomile rinse bleaches fair hair.
TRUE. Chamomile delicately bleaches fair hair, adding golden shade to it. Additionally it has antiphlogistic and antiseptic effects on the scalp.
It is unhealthy to wash hair every day.
FALSE. Both dermatologists as well as hairdressers share the opinion that hair can be washed every day, but only with low detergents shampoos, i.e. those for frequent usage. Hot water is actually harmful to hair, as it irritates skin, intensifies seborrhea and opens scales of a hair, which weakens it. Drying with air stream which is too hot is also harmful.
Rinsing hair with water with vinegar or lemon juice favors its beauty.

The more frequently we cut hair, the faster it grows.
FALSE. Trimming hair strands has nothing to do with its growth speed. It is nourishment of hair roots that influences condition and growth of hair, not cutting its dead parts – stems.
Brushing strengthens the hairdo.
FALSE. This way you may harm hair rather than help it. Frequent and long brushing, and with an improper brush or comb, increases the risk of damaging the scales. The safest way is to brush hair for a short time and with a natural bristle brush.
Egg mask thickens hair.
FALSE. Hair thickness is an individual quality. A hair, e.g. influenced by harmful external factors, becomes thinner. There are no agents thickening the stem of a hair, some of them may just strengthen, moisturize or grease it. This is how the egg yolk works. It regenerates hair and positively influences its look.
It is good to braid long hair for the night.
TRUE. Thanks to this you will avoid ruffling and tangling hair. Do not tie hair into a ponytail, because a tight rubber band damages hair structure and by straining it weakens hair roots.
It best to take care of hair with natural agents.
TRUE AND FALSE. Homemade conditioners possess lots of advantages: they are cheap, you can make them offhand and they do not contain artificial chemicals. They are rich in nutrients. Unfortunately, they also have disadvantages: they are hard to wash off hair, sometimes they weigh hair down too much and they may also irritate the scalp (e.g. black turnip juice).
Family shampoo is good for the whole family.
FALSE. A shampoo of this kind is good only for normal hair. So it is not capable of proper care for different types of hair. Dry hair is washed best with a protein shampoo with a slight greasing effect. Greasy hair should be washed with a preparation containing components that decrease precipitation of sebum, such as nettle, sage or chamomile.
